Construction Assistant

Department: Construction

Reports To: Construction & Engineering Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

General Summary

Assists in the construction, installation, and modification of OSP facilities, network facilities and equipment located at the customer premise. Required to locate and GPS network facilities locations. Position requires travel throughout the WRT service territories with occasional overnight stays.

Essential Job Functions

• Assists in installation and maintenance of premise protectors, NID housings, pedestals, fiber cable, hand holds and grounding solutions.
• Assists in installation of new services and equipment for subscribers by installing drop wires, station protections and network interface devices.
• Works with hand tools, motorized tools, vehicles, and trailers.
• Assists in installation, service, and removal of network facilities and equipment.
• May assist other departments with the installation and maintenance of security system, surveillance system, key systems, and other CPE equipment.
• Performs limited splicing and testing of basic drop cables.
• Completes all necessary installation and repair related forms and reports.
• Reads and understands utility maps, prints, and aerial imagery to assist in identification of underground fiber assets.
• Operates handheld detection equipment in the designed manner.
• Works in all types of terrain and hazards (grass, gravel, ditches, etc.), all types of environments (construction sites, highways, industrial, private property, etc.) and all types of weather conditions.
• Drives extensively and gets in-and-out of vehicle repeatedly, may walk several miles per day.
• Marks the location of underground fiber assets on roadways, private property, and other locations, as appropriate and needed, using required spray paints, flags and other equipment.
• Accurately and consistently wears safety gear and operates safety equipment as appropriate and required.
• Operates handheld GPS units in the designed manner.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieve results with good fiscal policy.
• Adapts to the evolving and changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities of WRT and the industry.

Sales Account Associate

Department: Marketing Department

Reports To: Marketing Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

General Summary

This position is primarily responsible for revenue generation through strategic alliances with new and existing WRT customers. The Sales Account Associate will inform and educate existing and potential WRT customers of our equipment, products and services. The Sales Account Associate will work closely with potential and existing WRT customers to identify and develop exclusive business development plans to fit the customer’s needs while providing exceptional customer care and follow-up to ensure the best customer experience. To promote an efficient increase in sales and profitability, the Sales Account Associate will be expected to be a self-starter and to be self-motivated as this position works remote 85% or more of the time with a flexible work schedule. Travel within the WRT market service area is required with overnight stays.

Essential Job Functions

• Research WRT’s market areas for potential customer of WRT equipment and services.
• Maintain and monitor existing client database and industry developments to identify potential new product opportunities.
• Sell WRT product and services, including, but not limited to telephone systems, security and surveillance systems, WAN services, door access services, IT services, including, cybersecurity managed services, managed firewalls and switches, Internet, and WRT Cloud voice service.
• Maintain contact with existing customer base and capitalizes on any new sales opportunities within the customer base.
• Follow up with customers following installations and alterations to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Inform and educate existing and potential customers on Company services and equipment.
• Respond directly to customer inquiries and correctly dispatch customer calls to appropriate WRT personnel.
• Primarily responsible for the coordination of proposals and prospective sales to new and existing customers.
• Accurately prepare specifications, proposals, and quotes.
• Assist in product development and provide accurate sales forecasts for new and/or existing products.
• Provide activity and results reports to management, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, monthly and annual territory analysis, and year to date sales reports.
• Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing and products.
• Assist as needed in any community promotional event.
• Assist the Marketing Manager in the yearly expanded sales and service budgetary requirements.
• Research and monitor existing client base and industry developments to identify potential new product opportunities
• Assist in cross-functional teams to execute product development plans
• Assist with and/or perform any sales training that is requested by the management team.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.

General Summary

This position provides expertise on all IP products and services. There are four areas that the IT Specialist will specialize in; VoIP, routing, firewalls and security. The IT Specialist is responsible for design, test, implementation and maintenance practices that ensure the efficient and reliable operations. This individual works closely with other team members and departments to coordinate activities and projects to support WRT’s Network and customer’s private networks.

Essential Job Functions

• Design, test, implement and maintain layer 2 switching.
• Design, test, implement and maintain layer 3 routing infrastructure.
• Design, test, implement and maintain digital and VoIP voice systems.
• Design, test, implement and maintain firewalls.
• Design, test, implement and maintain security controls.
• Design, test, implement and maintain IOT devices.
• Analyze data and make recommendations for equipment changes based on analysis; including forecasting, trending, and capacity projection in all IP related infrastructure.
• Maintain a record of engineering solutions, such as detailed engineering requirements, detailed reference design, and detailed integration test plan documents and results.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieve results with good fiscal policy.
• Adapt to the evolving and changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities of WRT and the industry.

• Knowledge of network security (ACL s, IPsec Tunnels), firewalls (Security Appliances), NetFlow, IPSLA, and VPN technologies in an ISP and customer environment.
• Knowledge of security controls to prevent monitor, log, detect, and mitigate information security threats in an ISP and customer environment.

• Knowledge of server management, authentication, and monitoring technology including; SNMP, ACS, RADIUS, AAA in an ISP and customer environment.
• Knowledge of VoIP application and SIP protocol in an ISP and customer environment.
• Must have and maintain CompTIA A+ certification
• Must have and maintain CompTIA Network+ certification.
• Must have and maintain the Cisco CCNA certification.
• Must have or be willing to obtain and maintain the Cisco CCNP certification.
• Must have or be willing to obtain and maintain ECMS1, ECMS2 and Cisco Meraki Solutions specialist certification.
• Ability to think analytically and to problem solve.
